Today
Young Life is thriving across four regions of Kenya, where Young Life staff have a long
history of training and impacting church leaders. Many of these leaders have been
taking the vision for Young Life back to their local
communities, where the ministry has continued to grow and expand. Kenya staff
and volunteers are actively reaching thousands of lost kids today in Nairobi,
Kakamaga, and in Mombasa. Young Life Expeditions has been sending teams to Kenya since 2006.
Details
Young Life Expeditions Kenya trips will have the opportunity to
serve alongside Young Life Kenya staff and volunteer leaders in Nairobi, Kakamega or Mombasa, in one or more of the following ways:
- Work crew for Young Life Kenya outreach or Campaigner camps
- Community service projects (development of schools, clinics, Young Life office)
- Participate in local Young Life neighborhood clubs
- Homestay visits, contact work with Young Life leaders in local neighborhoods
- Assist Kenya staff with Young Life Leadership Training for local volunteer leaders
Trip itineraries will generally center around seven to 10 days on the ground, hosted
by local Young Life Kenya staff. The
service component(s) of a trip will depend on current local ministry needs
identified by our Kenya host staff. Groups typically have a minimum of 10 people, including the trip leader.
Potential groups should contact us to confirm available trip dates and
flexibility as this information is continuously being updated and is subject to change.
Safari opportunities are available in Kenya,
as an extra one- to three-day excursion added to the end of the trip, though safari costs
will not be tax deductible. We will help plan and coordinate safari reservations, but teams must be prepared to handle payment for these costs
separate from your general Young Life Expeditions service trip expenses.
